The Power of Storytelling in Troubling Times
Explore storytelling as a creative way to wield the liberating power of Buddhist teachings in our daily lives and in these challenging times. How might stories stimulate compassion in daily life? How might writing liberating narratives cultivate wisdom?
Drawing on the lifelong commitments of Paula Arai’s research-based writing as a contemplative practice and Kathie Fischer’s focus on Zen practice in domestic and monastic modes, the afternoon will offer a contemplative meditation, principles of Dharma storytelling, and the opportunity to explore together our own stories that bring these principles to life.
