Pravarana, traditionally performed at the end of Practice Period, is a ceremony in which everyone confesses their shortcomings during Practice Period and begs forgiveness. It is mentioned in Dogen’s fascicle on Ango and at the opening of the Surangama Sutra. We will be performing it this year for the first time.
