13. Other Zen & General Buddhist Studies
Categorization is arbitrary and debatable. We engage in it in order to simplify and organize knowledge. This category is a catch-all for everything that didn’t seem to fit nicely into the previous twelve categories.
This includes important Zen texts (like The Platform Sutra; Transmission of the Lamp; The Sayings of Layman P’ang; The Sandokai) that didn’t fit into the categories for Zen Koans or Dōgen Studies, and other Buddhist (and sometimes non-Buddhist) teachings that did not fit comfortably elsewhere.
