Thank you for your interest in serving as a Zoom host for our upcoming Bay Area Hybrid Sesshin (March 24-30, 2025).
Hosting the online sangha on Zoom is a beautiful opportunity to hold space for practice and take care of the online sangha during this period of intensive practice. As a host, you’ll help create and maintain the container for others’ practice while deepening your own.
About the Role
We’re looking for two hosts to work as a team to manage the Zoom space throughout the sesshin, opening the Zoom room 10 minutes before the first period of zazen and closing it in the evening, after the Pali refuges.
Responsibilities include managing participant access, supporting the technical aspects of the transmission, and helping maintain the appropriate atmosphere. Our Zoom host coordinator, Shuffy Golberg, will provide training in the week of March 17th.
Previous Zoom hosts have found this to be a deeply meaningful form of practice and service.
Ideal Volunteers Would Be:
- Comfortable with Zoom technology
- Able to commit to significant portions of the sesshin schedule
- Willing to learn the protocols for supporting online participants
- Interested in supporting the practice of others as a form of dana
Please complete the form below to express your interest. Shuffy will contact you to discuss the role and training schedule.
