The Soto Zen Buddhist Association’s monthly year-long speaker series, Celebrating the Voices of Women in Buddhism; Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, continues with Women in Buddhist Monasticism: Women in Community featuring Reverend Chimyo Atkinson, an ordained priest in the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition.
Rev. Atkinson will share her insights into the role of women in Buddhist monasticism through the lens of her personal journey, including her journey to Japan, participating in monastic practice periods and receiving training under Shundo Aoyama Roshi.
The workshop will be held in-person at the Brooklyn Zen Center in Brooklyn, NY and online in Zoom.
