Jizo Bodhisattva, an embodiment of fearlessness and great persistence, walks into the fires of suffering, and accompanies all beings across to the safety and equanimity of awakening.

Together we will cultivate the qualities of Jizo: optimism, compassion, courage, and peace to transform our personal and collective losses, including the death of loved ones, the global pandemic, racial violence and inequities, climate catastrophe, economic instability, and societal uncertainties.

Each session includes Dharma teachings, discussion, small group sharing, and/or creative practices. The final session will be a Jizo Ceremony in which we bear witness to each other’s losses and dedicate our efforts to the healing of grief in our communities and in the world.

Our hope is that this offering will cultivate our capacity to accept and engage with what is painful and difficult. It is not intended to be an academic or formal Dharma class per se, but rather a time to practice together with deep intention. This class series is a unique opportunity to begin or deepen your bodhisattva practice.

All are welcome, especially those in need of compassion, healing, and solace.
