Kakuzen Keido Les Kaye, the founder of Kannon Do Zen Center and its abbot for almost 40 years, passed away on Saturday, September 5th, after a brief period of hospice care at Stanford University.
He was originally ordained as a monk by Suzuki Shunryu Roshi and received Dharma Transmission in 1988 from Shunryu’s son, Suzuki Hoitsu Roshi.
Norman will lead a funeral service for Les at Kannon Do on Sunday, November 22, at 2:00 pm.
