In tonight’s Dharma Seminar, led by Norman, we’ll continue our study of texts from the Majjhima Nikaya (Middle-length Discourses of the Buddha) on social harmony.
Seijiki Ceremony
At the end of this evening’s Seminar, Neal will lead us through a traditional Seijiki Ceremony.
Seijiki is a traditional Japanese Zen Buddhist ceremony for the spirits of departed ones. This powerful ceremony summons forth all restless spirits and pacifies agitation and violence within and without.
The Seijiki Ceremony includes a reading of the names of close friends and family members who have died. Names on our Safe Passage list, which we have been chanting during the last year or so, will be included automatically. We also invite sangha members to add the names of deceased family, friends, and sangha relations who have died recently or long ago. Click the button below to submit names by Sunday, Oct 25.
