Calgary Soto Zen: Non-residential retreat with Chris Fortin

Calgary Soto Zen will be hosting a non-residential weekend retreat with Chris Fortin from Friday June 17 to Sunday June 19, at the Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ) Centre (219-19th Avenue SW) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
During this retreat, 3 students will be receiving jukai from Chris: Joshua Hoiberg, Sharan Sutherland, Patrick Griffin
Schedule & Details
Friday: 7pm to 9pm (MDT)
Saturday Day: 9am to 5pm (MDT)
Saturday Evening: 7 to 9pm (MDT)
Sunday: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm (MDT)
This retreat will be in person and via Zoom. In-person and Zoom participants will be able to take part in Zazen (sitting meditation), Kinhin (walking meditation), services, listening to dharma talks, and enjoying a one-on-one practice discussion with the teacher (Dokusan).
A vegetarian dinner will be provided Saturday evening. All other meals are the participant’s own responsibility.
Registration & Costs
Cost: $115 CA for in-person attendance, $90 CA for Zoom attendance, plus Danna (monetary gift) for the teachers.
