Again this month, our Everyday Zen All-Day Sit is being held in-person at Green Gulch Farm and online via Zoom.
For those sitting on Zoom, Jaune will offer one group dokusan at 12:oo pm. (She is busy meeting with in-person participants the rest of the day.) Please see below for details and to sign up. Unfortunately, individual practice discussion will not be available today.
The day begins at 9:00 am with a welcome and brief orientation, and continues with alternating rounds of sitting and walking meditation. Noon service is followed by a break for a silent lunch. We return to sitting and walking meditation in the afternoon, followed by a dharma talk and small group discussion. An evening service ends the day, concluding at 4:30 with chanting the Three Refuges in Pali.
On this page, you will find the Zoom access info; links to the Schedule of the Day and the EDZ Chant Book (PDFs); and forms for requesting dokusan and practice discussion. You might want to open this page in a tab and also open or download and print out the Schedule and Chant Book, so you have them readily available during the sit.
About Participating on Zoom
When joining the All-Day Sitting on Zoom, please take care of yourself with the schedule as you need.
For sitting, you can either sit in front of your computer screen with video on or off, or sit and walk where you like. Your being onscreen can be encouraging to others. We recommend setting Zoom to ‘Speaker View’ for the day so that your main view onscreen is of the zendo at Green Gulch Farm, framed by thumbnails of others in the online sangha.
If you have questions about Zoom etiquette during our practice events, please refer to the guide linked to from this page.
Have a good sit.
