Everyday Zen Dialogs

Sep 29th 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

GOING ABOUT OUR DAILY LIVES, we may feel caught up in a whir of activities, doing more, collecting material things, or trying to achieve ideals of success. Yet so much effort doesn’t seem to bring us closer to a sense of peace or satisfaction.

IN COMING TOGETHER, WE WILL EXAMINE the cultural and personal pressures behind this reaching for more, which often adds to our restlessness and deepens feelings of separation. We will explore new ways to just be in our lives. Moment by moment, can we begin to taste a nectar that nourishes us with ungraspable meaning?

THIS DAY-LONG SESSION will be led by experienced teachers in the Zen tradition, skilled in helping individuals and groups explore inmost concerns. Activities will include meditation, guided writing exercises, and open-hearted discussion.

To register: or contact Allison Warren at or (925) 322-3140.

Cost: $40 plus a traditional donation (dana) to the teachers at the end of the day. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.  Contact the registrar directly for scholarship information.  Tea/ coffee provided; please bring a bag lunch.

Everyday Zen Dialogs is a series of workshops fostering conversations about zen practice in everyday life.  We welcome people of all nationalities, classes, genders, sexual orientations, ages, physical abilities, and newcomers to Buddhist practice.
