These traditional yet relaxed all day sittings begin at 9:00 am and include meditation, a silent lunch, dharma talk/discussion, and dokusan(private meeting with Norman or other teachers).
Suggested contribution for the All Day Sittings is $80—120(sliding scale) which includes a $60 facility rental fee, lunch, tea/coffee, and a donation to the teacher. You can pay by cash or check at the sitting. Please let us know when you register if you need a scholarship to help cover costs.
Starting in July, we will begin sitting some months at Green Gulch Farm Zen Center, north of San Francisco, off Highway 1 at Muir Beach. Other months, we will sit as we usually have at Naturebridge, a retreat and conference center on Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands, just north of San Francisco.
See below for the schedule of venues and directions to each location.
Invitations to the All-Day Sit are sent by email approximately 3 weeks before each sitting. To receive these invitations, please visit the Mailing Lists page, sign up for the Everyday Zen News & Events mailing list, and subscribe to All-Day Sittings.
NOTE: We will register for sittings at Green Gulch Farm directly on their website. Details of the registration process and guidelines will be posted here when they are available.
We provide a final lunch count and attendance commitment to the venue by 9:00 AM on the Friday morning before our sitting. This requires us to hold participants to certain deadlines and commitments.
We very much appreciate receiving your registration no later than end of day on the Thursday before each sitting. If you miss this deadline, you may still attend but must bring your own lunch.
If your plans change after registering, please notify the registrar right away by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you cancel after the registration deadline, you will be asked and expected to pay the $60/person cost that covers our obligation to our venues.
