Metta Institute - End of Life Counselor Training

The Metta Institute (previously named the Alaya Institute) was founded by the Zen Hospice Project Founding Director, Frank Ostaseski, to provide innovative education on spirituality in dying. Each year about 25 people from all over the country (most of them already working in the field of end of life care) participate in the several long retreats and many weekends that constitute the training. Norman is a founding faculty member in the program, along with Ram Das, Rachel Naomi Remen, Rabbi Alan Lew, Charlie Garfield (founder of the Shanti Project), psychologist Francis Vaughn, anthropologist and spiritual teacher Angeles Arrien, and Frank Ostaseski.
